The English Dead

The English Dead is a science fiction short story that explores the abiding mystery of whether George Mallory and "Sandy" Irvine could have reached the summit of Mount Everest in 1924, twenty-nine years before the first successful ascent by Edmund Hillary and Norgay Tenzing.
