The Epic of Jangar

Jangar is a Mongolian oral epic and one of the great works of Chinese literature. It’s known as one of the three great Chinese minority epics, ranking alongside Tibetan King Gesar and the Kyrgyz’s Manas. It’s the result of the combined work of Mongolian folk artisans from the Mongolian Durven Oirad tribes of Juungar, Hoshuud, Durbed, and Dorbod.The epic describes the life of Jangar.
