This book is the culmination of Chesterton’s lifelong endeavor to defend Christianity as the only sane thing in an insane world. Building on the ideas he wrote three decades earlier in “Heretics” and “Orthodoxy”, he gives a unique and compelling portrayal of human history. His arguments blend theology with sociology, history, myth, and philosophy to produce a picture of Man and his search for the truth.
