Publisher Description
This isn't your grandma's King Arthur story.
Nate Arturi isn't a knight in shining armor. He sure as hell isn't a king. The last time someone called him heroic, it was because he fetched his neighbor's corgi off the roof. But when an ancient alien beacon awakens on Earth, sounding the call to enemies near and far, the Merlin is left with little choice.
Ambushed by a hulking alien brute and tricked into accepting a foul-mouthed sword from a homeless wizard, Nate suddenly finds his senior year at Penn State more than a little out of hand. But when an armada of butt-ugly troglodans and exotic gorgon killers starts raining from the sky, one thing becomes inescapably clear:
Unless he mans up and gets that damned beacon off of his planet, everything he knows is about to be burned to a crisp.
And that's only the beginning of the galaxy's problems…

Customer Reviews
On the cusp of amazing.
The author took an existing fantastical legend and blended it with original sci-fi ideas to make an amazing, interesting, and exciting concept. Unfortunately he took the internal struggle of the main character quite a bit too far as it wasn’t until the very end of a very long saga of books that the main character was able to find his balls. The character being so incompetent, constantly paralyzed by fear and indecision and arrogantly self centered made it hard to relate to him. Him not learning from his experiences and being such a beta made It extremely impossible to root for the character. I kept reading hoping for him to get killed off and see the Excalibur bonded to a better human being.
The 4th star though, was because the author finally had the character ‘sack up’ and further episodes have the potential to rival the likes of Halo, Old Man’s War, Armor, and Starship Troopers.
