The False Hero

Alonso Fuentes grew up believing his father was a hero.

As a boy, he listened in awe as Ignacio Fuentes told the story of how he once saved an entire village from a death squad. To Alonso, his father was more than an ordinary man. He was proof that courage was real.

But Alonso never felt brave himself.

When his best friend was attacked, he froze. Years later, when the girl he loved disappeared under frightening circumstances, he carried that failure too. By adulthood, Alonso has built a quiet life around guilt, regret, and the painful belief that he is not the man he should be.

Then Jessica returns.

Now trapped in a world ruled by fear, violence, and the Russian mob, Jessica becomes the person Alonso cannot fail again. Determined to save her, he chases the kind of courage he spent his whole life admiring.

But the closer Alonso gets to becoming the hero he imagined, the more his father's legendary past begins to fall apart.

When the truth finally surfaces, Alonso must face a devastating question.

What if the man who taught him what heroism meant was never a hero at all?

False Hero is a story about fear, family, shame, and the painful road toward real courage.
