The Family Tree

In the Spring of 2001, Laura Christie rescues an old cigar box and a small metal lockbox, both stuffed with yellowing documents and antique photos, from an armoire in her grandmother’s home before her mother and aunt sell everything to close out their mother’s estate. Laura’s family had never been close; she barely knew the names of her four grandparents much less the names of their parents. The treasures she discovers in those rescued boxes inspire her to travel to Europe, allow her to meet her ancestors - figuratively and literally, and build a new family; an international cross-cultural family, one that can wield ancient powers and harness modern technology to catalyze a revolution in the wake of the 2016 election.
