Standalone but I recommend the series
This is a new story in the Order of Magic series and it's Sue's story. She survived an accident that killed her abusive husband. This is her story of the way forward. Likable characters and Sue was impressive in her success in overcoming her past. This is a standalone but I do recommend reading the others in the series so you'll enjoy revisiting with them.
Will break your heart and put it back happy
I love these women of a certain age. At forty Sue finds herself being replaced by her husband, but that doesn’t work out for him. She could curl up and let the darkness envelop her but she takes a wild crazy ride to a new future. With the help of three wonderful magical sisters of the heart Sue battles old demons and comes out with a new supernatural ability and new love interest to boot. Loved this twisty, spooky but not scary, totally enthralling read.

Another Talent Added
Segued from the previous book, The Fourth Power we briefly get introduced to Sue Jewell in her hot mess state. This is Susan “Sue” Jewel’s story. We read about her trauma, physical abuse and potential murder when she is coerced to Freewild Cove, North Carolina from St. Louis, Missouri. As the story continues the fear is the indicator and lack of trust. We find our Sue has a talent or gift as the other three ladies. However this series inspires hope and healing. This is what enchants me to this saga. Beautiful that over forty females can get a second chance if they allow themselves to heal from the pain they’ve endured. Best recommend reading in order but can be read as a standalone even though the previous books segue into the next story.
