Jane Starr adopts a kitten left at her doorstep. Soon after, her new pet, Theodosia, turns out to be a handful. Jane's mundane world fills with oddball moments of madness as her kitten disappears and her nasty ex makes her life miserable. Her kitten, Sia, for short, is an enchanted member of an elusive enchanted society and the trigger for releasing Jane's repressed magical talents. But all this bewitchment attracts a dark element, and Jane finds herself entangled in an undercurrent of tarot  mayhem she never knew existed in the sleepy little town of Meadowvale.
