Publisher Description
Josie Moore is in big trouble. After a few too many glasses of wine and tired of her mother’s constant disappointment, Josie tells what she thinks is a harmless lie—that she is sort of in a relationship with her childhood crush, firefighter Lincoln Bradford. The lie comes back to bite her when her mother moves back to town, and now Josie has to make the fantasy a reality.
Lincoln has a perfect plan to protect his heart—and rule number one is: don’t fall in love. There’s no such thing as happily ever after, especially when it comes to love. But he didn’t factor in Josie, his sister’s quirky, gorgeous best friend. He agrees to help her, with the understanding that they’re definitely not going to be anything more.
But every time they try to break up, they only end up tangled deeper together. Lincoln’s carefully laid plans are about to come crashing down...

Hilarious
I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley and I am voluntarily reviewing it.
This was a wonderfully hilarious romantic story. I was laughing so much with this story, that I hated to see it end. These characters played so well off of each other and I'm not talking about just Lincoln and Josie. Ms. Weiss did a fantastic job of creating a loving, caring three generational family. It felt like I was there in the middle of the teasing yet lovable family. I can't wait for more of this series.
I did purchase the first story as I hadn't read that one yet. I can't wait. This book leads me to believe that this book will be one of those that I will definitely be reading and re-reading for a long time. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

What starts out as a little lie to her mother completely blows up in Josie's face when her mother shares her news with the biggest gossip in town. So instead of being able to clean up her mess without Lincoln ever knowing that she told her family they were dating, she needs him to pretend they're together at least until they can plan a big public breakup.
There were so many shenanigans in this book that made me laugh. My heart broke for Lincoln after how badly he was burned in the past but there were more than a few times that I wanted to shake him for being so committed to his plan of never falling in love again. Over and over I just wanted to hug Josie for how horrible her family is but she powered through every single time. I loved all of the interactions between Josie and Lincoln and was pulling for them from the very beginning.
I'm really loving the Fire and Sparks series and I can't wait to see what comes next!!
