I have collected all this author's books. This one is on a par with the best of them. Features Druss the Legend, one of this author's best characters.
Fast paced, adventure filled, with a dash of wonder and yes, philosophy. All you could ask for.

David Gemmell was one of, if not the very best when it comes to detailing the sadness and heroic endeavors of men during times of war. His rich fantasy backgrounds are held together by deep character development and flow with the ease of an epic movie. He paints such vivid and detailed images of men fighting g side by side, there are no soft chapters filled with pages and pages of love and politics. He writes books for fans who love to imagine the clashing of steel and the spilling of blood in the name of country, saving princesses and stopping evil shamans from taking over the world.
