The village of Merryfield hosts the beginning of the
Diana Flowers, a British amateur sleuth Floriculture
Mysteries series. This is a short, interesting plotted
novella to introduce the main well written, colorful
character who is a chemist scientist determined to
switch careers to grow and sell flowers.
The Harvest Festival is coming up. One of Diana’s
follow gardeners who is one of the Harvest Festivals
Prize winners every year for his crops is found dead.
He is found in a hole dug near his prize pumpkin
which had been tapered with plus his marrows are
damaged and other flowers trampled. No spade is
found nearby.
The man annoyed many of the village residents.
He rumored to have money.
Diana sets a trap for the killer. Will the trap be a
success?
