Love is greater than lust
The beginning is a little rocky, with how the marriage proposal and her acceptance goes, and even somewhat their wedding. All of that is forgiven though, because the rest of the book is perfection. Sweet, sexy, with twists and turns the whole way. These characters have some amazing chemistry, and they bring out the best in each other. A true team, and that’s what makes love greater than lust.
This was a decent read, much better than I expected it to be. Connor comes from a rough background, but has overcome his personal obstacles to start creating a better life for himself. However, he doesn’t believe that he will ever reach his full potential working for companies that are family owned/operated and where nepotism is common place. He decided to approach Faith, a woman he has heard about through friends, to create a marriage of convenience. She gets the child that she is desperate for and a husband that will be involved and faithful, albeit without love. He stands to run her father’s company and promises to keep the lust alive in their marriage.
The book was way too long. The beginning and end are well paced, but the middle could have been cut way down without losing anything from the plot. And Faith’s bad self-esteem and self-worth was grating at times. I feel like she could have made the turn around faster, but also more gradual. She went from meek and positive no man could ever find her attractive to a tiger with no real character development between.
However, I love that the author was able to build tension without relying on miscommunication and misinterpretation of events as plot devices. Connor and Faith communicated and worked out their issues all throughout the story. They also trusted each other, even though the situation didn’t lend itself to being a solid foundation. Everyone was honest about their intentions throughout the entire story. Although the HEA comes up from no where at the end of the book, there are enough hints throughout the narrative to create some believability.
