The Frozen Desert

"The Frozen Desert" is a Contemplative Journey designed to walk us through the Lenten Season. It starts with Ash Wednesday and lasts 46 days until Easter Sunday. Traditionally, Sundays are skipped, providing us with 40 days of reflection, prayer, and intentional turning toward the Triune God. This season, frequently observed in orthodox churches, symbolizes the 40 days Jesus spent in the wilderness fasting between his baptism and the beginning of His three years of ministry. 'The Frozen Desert," incorporates the spiritual practices of Lectio and Visio Divina and invites us to the harsh wilderness that leads us on a journey toward the light of Easter Sunday.
