Leila Viss has written a good intro on chords with visuals appropriate for elementary students. However, each major concept should be followed with practice or at least summary questions so that students truly remember ideas before reading the next one. I also disagree with identifying chord inversions by internal intervals and failing to mention the outer fifth or sixth interval. this is especially true in the section on seventh chords.
