The Ghost of Marlow House The Ghost of Marlow House

Publisher Description

When Danielle Boatman inherits Marlow House, she dreams of turning it into a seaside bed and breakfast. Since she’s never visited the property, Danielle’s not sure what awaits her in Oregon. She certainly doesn’t expect to find one of the house’s previous owners still in residence. After all, the man has been dead for almost ninety years—shouldn’t he have moved on by now?

Charming Walt Marlow convinces Danielle the only way he can move on is if she solves the mystery of his death. Danielle soon discovers her real problems may come from the living—those who have their sights on Marlow House’s other secrets.

Enjoyable Read

Danielle Boatman inherits Marlow House from her great-aunt. With the help of her friend Lily, she plans to transform the old mansion into a bed and breakfast destination. Danielle possesses a unique ability -- she can see the dead. When Danielle and Lily first arrive at Marlow House, Danielle meets the ghost of the former owner, Walt Marlow.

At first, Walt does not know he is dead and realizes only Danielle can see and hear him. When Walt realizes that he has died under suspicious circumstances, he asks Danielle to find out the truth of his death. Danielle is determined to uncover the truth and help Walt “pass to the other side”.

The characters are well-developed and likable, and the plot unfolds at a perfect pace. It is enjoyable to uncover the secrets of the town, its residents, and Walt's death as Danielle embarks on her quest to unravel the mysteries of Marlow House. Overall, this was an engaging cozy mystery, and I look forward to reading more books in the series.
