What if you only had one chance to get a story that could change your future? What would you do? Would you betray your best friends? How far would you go to get that byline?

Penélope, Sofia, Carla, Marisabel, and Raquel are best friends and acting members of The Ghostwriters, an international writers group for teen girls. They have it all: talent, looks, popularity, and a strong friendship. The Green Lot writing assignment should be just like any another. Instead, it turns out to be the one that reveals who the true friends are, as well as some family secrets. 

Penélope travels to Madrid and back to her dorm in Cuenca, determined to get the byline to save her spot at the Institute of Madrid de las Bellas Artes. Going against the club’s motto “Friendship first, byline last” and discovering the true value of everything she is in danger of losing will be more challenging than untangling the mystery surrounding The Green Lot.
