The Girls across the Bay (The Knox and Sheppard Mysteries, Book 1) by Emerald O’Brien

4 Stars

This is my first book by this author and although I seriously enjoyed it, it took me a bit to get in to it, and there were parts I had to go back and reread because at times it was hard to follow or a bit wordy.

This was about 2 young girls that started out as friends and then became sisters and their journey through foster care into adulthood. The storyline was amazing and the attention to detail was done perfectly. Living the same story through two different perspectives was unique and I did by the middle of the story find myself completely invested and I could not put the book down.

I loved the bond between Madigan and Grace and watching them both deal with life in their own ways was awesome. I love crime stories and I love trying to figure it all out with them and I will say this one totally threw me, and that's what makes me love reading this genre.

I highly recommend this story and I can't wait for more from this author.

The girls across the bay

A gripping read I couldn’t put down. Just about the time I thought I knew who was guilty, I was wrong. Kept me in suspense to the very end.

Refreshing

A book that had a new plot twist. It didn’t have filthy language. Best of all, it was a complete book with no cliffhanger so you buy the next book.
