Three brothers go into the forest and each are met by the little grey man who asks for food and water. Only the third brother, the Simpleton, is kind enough to help him. As a reward he shows him where to find a Golden Goose which brings good luck! Many follow the Simpleton in his journeys until he finds a princess who he wishes to marry. Kindness goes a long way, learns the Simpleton.

He eventually became famous for his children’s books published by Frederick Warne. The story of Tom Thumb was the first fairy tale printed in the English language in 1621. Since then it has been adapted into various plays, films, animations, and musicals.
