The Golden Pool

A forgotten journal. A hidden gold mine. A journey from which there may be no return.
Richard Englefield longs for something beyond the endless routine of a bank clerk’s life. A chance encounter offers him a berth on a ship bound for West Africa—and the adventure he has been waiting for.
Then he discovers the journal of Captain Barnabas Hogg. Its faded pages connect unsettling rumours of a sacred pool with the promise of a forgotten mine. For Englefield, the possibility of hidden gold becomes impossible to ignore.
Determined to uncover the truth, he sets out into the interior. But disguise and daring can take him only so far. Among guarded secrets, uncertain alliances, and men prepared to defend their treasure, his search becomes a struggle to escape captivity and find a way home.
