A really great read
“ ‘Dare airson aisling,’ Aiden says softly. Dare for a dream.”
Nic Rutherford, typical teenager, is able to ignore just about anyone. She and her best friend Sarah go to clubs and raves where Sarah escapes her horrible home life and Nic shares her special ‘talent” by taking down predators with her kiss, a one person killing squad. However, it also makes her seem aloof because she’s afraid to get close to someone she cares about, for fear The Goodnight Kiss won’t discriminate.
Boring is her way through school, and then she meets Aiden Jager and everything changes. He is tied to her mysteriously, and when she finds out how it opens her past into an unbelievable life of power, promise and potential that no one could ever dream of. Everything has a price and when she figures that out, will she be able to live with the consequences?
I am a big fan of Jennifer L.Hart’s cosy mysteries, and was given this book to read before its release. I voluntarily offered to review it. This book is NOT a cosy by any means. It is a fairy tale in some ways, a thriller in others, with a soupçon of teen angst to sweeten the pot. Those fans of Grimm and Perrault as well as Charmed, Buffy and Reign will be captivated by Nic and Aiden and their story. I can hardly wait for Book 2. Highly recommended. 5/5
