The Gorilla Hunters

Ballantyne brings back his three principal characters from The Coral Island as young men in this story, where they embark upon a gorilla hunting expedition in Africa. At the time that Ballantyne wrote this story, gorillas had just come into the realm of popular interest, and he obliges his readers by having one of his heroes keep a detailed log about the lives and habits of the gorillas.
