"I'm so starry-eyed for this wise, romantic gem of a book." - Becky Albertalli, bestselling author of Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda

In this smart, heart-warming YA debut perfect for fans of Becky Albertalli and Adam Silvera, two teens find love when their lives are uprooted for their parents' involvement in a NASA mission to Mars.

Cal wants to be a journalist, and he's already well underway with almost half a million followers on his FlashFame app and an upcoming internship at Buzzfeed. But his plans are derailed when his pilot father is selected for a highly-publicized NASA mission to Mars. Within days, Cal and his parents leave Brooklyn for hot and humid Houston.

With the entire nation desperate for any new information about the astronauts, Cal finds himself thrust in the middle of a media circus. Suddenly his life is more like a reality TV show, with his constantly bickering parents struggling with their roles as the "perfect American family."

And then Cal meets Leon, whose mother is another astronaut on the mission, and he finds himself falling head over heels--and fast. They become an oasis for each other amid the craziness of this whole experience. As their relationship grows, so does the frenzy surrounding the Mars mission, and when secrets are revealed about ulterior motives of the program, Cal must find a way to get to the truth without hurting the people who have become most important to him.

Absolutely incredible!!

Wow, I’m honestly speechless for this witty, romantic, wise, star of a book. From the moment it started to the very end I was hooked. Hooked on the unique and interesting plot line, to the romantic relationships along with the platonic ones each one was fleshed out to it’s fullest. To Cal’s anxiety, along with his people pleasing qualities, along with needed to be there for everyone else but yourself constantly, was something I could heavily relate to. To with the intrusion on the press on their personal lives, along with the twists and turns that always has you looking for more around the corner along with several different intrigues and plot lines that all somehow find a way to come to a conclusion is some absolutely phenomenal writing. But despite all of the plot lines, and backends being tied up with a ribbon. I almost sort of wished that it could have been made into a trilogy, as there is just so much left to cover in this universe that I’m not quite ready to leave. Anyway, thank you for taking the time to read this review, and I hope you give this book a try, as it meant a lot to me as it might to you.

Different

This is the second LGBT book I read and it was definitely not the book I was expecting.
I was pleasantly surprised.

A New Favorite

The minute that I finished this book, I wanted to flip right back to the first page and read it again. This story is absolutely beautiful. The characters feel so real right from the start. I absolutely adore their development- the arcs all feel earned and are so rewarding to read through. I highly recommend this book! I can’t even begin to describe how much these characters mean to me. This book left me an emotional mess and I can’t wait to see what Phil Stamper does next. I think I might have a new favorite author 💕
