Descripción editorial
Perennial New York Times bestselling author Susan Elizabeth Phillips now provides her fans with The Great Escape from ordinary women’s romantic fiction, featuring some of Phillips's most adored characters, including Ted Beaudine and Lucy Jorik.
Lucy Jorik is a champ at not embarrassing her family—not surprising since her mother is one of the most famous women in the world. But now Lucy has done just that. Instead of saying "I do" to the most perfect man she's ever known, Lucy flees the church and hitches a ride on the back of a beat-up motorcycle with a rough-looking stranger who couldn't be more foreign to her privileged existence. At his beach house on a Great Lakes island, Lucy hopes to find a new direction . . . and unlock the secrets of a man who reveals nothing about himself. But as the hot summer days unfold amid scented breezes and sudden storms, she discovers a passion that could change her life forever.
PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
Phillips (Call Me Irresistible) reintroduces Lucy Jorikin in this delightful, if initially somewhat slow, romance. As a former U.S. president's adopted daughter, Lucy feels the pressure to be perfect. But when Lucy runs out on the perfect man, Ted Beaudine, on the day of her wedding, she shows that she wants something else. Throwing caution to the wind, she accepts a ride on the back of a motorcycle from a menacing-looking stranger nicknamed "Panda." Lucy isn't quite ready to face her family, and the rest of the world, again, and her growing attraction to the grizzled biker just makes it easier to keep her real life on hold. After a secret about Panda comes out, however, Lucy realizes that escaping her too-perfect life will be harder than it seemed. Readers may be impatient during the beginning and unconvinced by aspects of the ending, but with two such hot leads, a few flaws can easily be overlooked.

Not the Best Susan Elizabeth Phillips Book
This book is well written and is a page turner, but what happened to Susan Elizabeth Phillips' sex scenes in this romance novel? I missed it completely and I am very disappointed!
Well…..
It could have been worse, I suppose. The characters (Lucy/Patrick) were not likable. They weren’t hatable, either. They were just blah. The stupid nickname of “Panda” was just that. Stupid! No explanation for it.
The two side stories were distracting. (Mike/Bree, Temple/Max, Toby & Kristi)
Not one of the eight main characters was engaging. Toby could have been, but he wasn’t allowed to be.
This was a long, drawn-out completely blah story. It could have been great, but it just wasn’t. No where in any of the author’s incessant ramblings did she give any reason for any of them to like, much less, love each other. There wasn’t any character development or true growth. I gave it two stars but it really doesn’t even deserve that.
The great escape
This is my first time reading this author and I really disliked this book. Lucy was such a hypocritical witch and he was stupid for even wanting her. She did a lot of lecturing about him being a coward, running away, and not consulting her. She was the one who ran out on her wedding and stayed away from her family. Though it took me awhile, I finally made it to the end and wished I had never made myself finish this book. A complete waste!
