A Twisted Tale...
Excellent writing, casual dialog, fun plot twists and turns. Evocative of times past in Los Angeles. Gritty Lew Archer takes a lickin' and keeps on tickin'! Good read...
The Imaginary Blonde
It is too bad Macdonald's novels aren't available. This story and "The GUilty Ones" read like practice runs by the master. The writing is vivid enough to carry you to the end, but the characters don't have the depth that made novels like The Underground Man and The Chill so great.
