Publisher Description
The Gulag Archipelago is Solzhenitsyn's masterwork, a vast canvas of camps, prisons, transit centres and secret police, of informers and spies and interrogators and also of heroism, a Stalinist anti-world at the heart of the Soviet Union where the key to survival lay not in hope but in despair. The work is based on the testimony of some two hundred survivors, and on the recollection of Solzhenitsyn's own eleven years in labour camps and exile. It is both a thoroughly researched document and a feat of literary and imaginative power

Excellent
A real eye opener. Especially in light of the direction that the left is presently heading.
TODAY’S STATE OF AFFAIRS
This is a wake up call for people today, we need to push back against the Socialist/Communist State in the United States. Let’s Go Brandon!
Large sections missing
I bought this because the paperback version is old and hard on my eyes thanks to the small print. I noticed that this ebook version lacked many of the footnotes, some of which are quite detailed stories in themselves.
But when I got to the chapter “The Law As A Child”, the ebook had only a paragraph. This made me curious: Turns out the paper version had over 30 pages! Other chapters are also simply lacking huge chunks!
This book seriously short-changes the reader—and the writer!
