The Heretic’s Fire

Plague and famine are ravaging every town of seventeenth century Spain. In the midst of this devastation, The Spanish Inquisition holds the country in its tyrannical iron grip, and any woman not strictly following Catholicism is branded a heretic witch. In cleansing Spain, any woman considered an unbeliever is mercilessly hunted down and sentenced to death.

Out of this apocalyptic landscape comes a story of injustice, discrimination, and forbidden love. It is a love between Alvaro, a man responsible for the cruellest acts carried out by The Inquisition, and Ana Maria, a Jewish girl who cares for those infected with the Plague.

Throughout these days filled with disease, death and danger, Ana Maria selflessly battles to save the lives of her family, as well as those in her town struck down by the contagion. Alvaro, known as Iron Fist, must crush those whose beliefs, traditions and practices go against the church.

Their love must overcome the obstacles, conventions and roles imposed upon them by a society baying for blood and eager to purify through the ultimate instrument of execution: burning at the stake.

In the thrilling climax, each of them is given a choice: renounce their faith or renounce each other.
