The Hope Garden

When Homer the hedgehog's plant nursery is annihilated in a hailstorm, Homer loses his plants, his livelihood and his will to continue on. After bidding farewell to his friends, he finds encouragement from an unexpected source.
The Hope Garden tells the story of a happy hedgehog whose joy in life comes from cultivating plants. When all of Homer's tender young plants are destroyed by hail, Homer decides to run away. On his flight from the county, Homer encounters an old badger who teaches him to hope.
The Hope Garden was written by John Ellis, a long time greenhouse owner in the Bluegrass Region of Kentucky.
The Hope Garden is perfect for parents wishing to build an appreciation for gardening in young children while teaching them perseverance.
