Publisher Description
It all started with a woman and a lighthouse. The House that Adelia Built spins a tale full of love, lies, and betrayal at the hands of a man Adelia calls Augustus—her own husband.
In the late 1800s, Augustus finds a job as lighthouse keeper on a beautiful, but isolated island. He can’t wait to bring his new bride home to the lighthouse, set on majestic bluffs, which have laid claim to many shipwrecks.
Augustus soon suffers from the effects of self-induced isolation, as Adelia watches him slowly lose his grip on reality until he turns mad, bringing forth dire consequences.
Meet Hope, a modern day quiet, quirky young woman with a case of agoraphobia—or so it would seem. She feels an inexplicable pull toward the lighthouse and the bluffs beyond. Hope struggles with her internal battle and seeks to find the truth about her unsettling, recurring nightmares. Maybe then she can discover why she has always felt so alone and unusual.
Enter Clooney, a handsome, unassuming stranger who soon becomes so much more to Hope. The very woman who has guarded her heart in the past will soon find herself wrapped in a web of denial, leading to a heart-wrenching reality.
For every truth she exposes, more heartache is found. Hope must come face-to-face with her worst fears as she uncovers the mystery surrounding her spellbinding connection to the lighthouse.

Ummmm, what did I just read?? Well, not just, because I finished the book about 2 hours ago and have been trying to figure out how I feel about what I read, and I've been visiting her profile so I can figure out how many more books I'll be downloading since I will be reading every single word she has written.
I'll start by saying I absolutely with no doubt about it, loved this book!! It was written beautifully and read just the same. It was like having two books in one and I dont think Ive ever read a book with one story current, and one in the past that I've enjoyed as much. The creative way this author led this story was spot on, and the twists came just when I thought I had it all figured out..Perfect!! I'm confused because I don't read these kind of books, and right now I can't wait to see if her other books are as hauntingly addictive as this one was.
The characters were described in a way that I felt I knew each one of them. I loved Hope, Clooney, Devon, Tracy, and Adelia..The way their lives weaved together was nothing short of perfection. I love lighthouse stories especially when there is a mystery to solve and adding in a case of agoraphobia made this book one of my favorites of the year.
I will not go into any detail regarding the storyline, it is something you must experience without me trying to summarize it, just know that you have to read this story it is amazing and it ended not at all like I thought it would, but exactly how it should have.
