good read
This was a little different than other Koontz books. Very little supernatural element, but compelling. It was very believable, which made it even scarier.
Energetic
A love story with split second twists and turns. Difficult to put down. Very entertaining and smart. Beautiful writing.
What would you do for love?
Another fantastic book from the incomparable Dean Koontz! The best thing about it was that the entire plot was based around something that could happen to anyone! I love supernatural novels; that’s part of why I’ve read so many books by Koontz. But, since I also love reading suspense novels as much as I like reading horror novels, it’s nice to know that Koontz can write a great book that contains no supernatural elements whatsoever. The book features great characters: Readers are certain to fall in love with Mitch and Holly, two wonderful people who constitute the most loveable fictional married couple you will ever meet, and the bad guys are among the most despicable villains in popular fiction! The plotting for this story is dead-on perfection! While the story remains real enough that you’ll feel like you could be watching it happen to your own neighbor, it moves at such an unimaginably frantic pace that calling the book a roller coaster ride would be a vast understatement! To imagine the the intense pace of the book, think about this. I’ve never been inside of a rocket or an airplane or a helicopter or anything like that. But I’ve often heard that a rocket can travel really fast, at almost impossible speeds, it seems. If this is true, then you could think of The Husband as a book that moves like an out-of-control rocket! The climax is over a little too quickly; that’s the only fault I can find with this one. The ending, on the other hand, is no less satisfying than with any other Koontz book! If you’re looking for another great book by one of the best storytellers alive, spend some time with The Husband! His name is Mitch and he’ll be some of the best company you can ever have while reading a book!
