Both Protestants and Catholics — as well as mystics and historians of religious thought — have studied these meditations on the life and teachings of Jesus, finding in them a path to prayer and spiritual guidance. Written in a candid and conversational style, The Imitation of Christ discusses liberation from worldly inclinations, recollection as a preparation for prayer, the consolations of prayer, and the place of eucharistic communion in a devout life. With its simple, readable text, this translation will appeal to new readers as well as to those already familiar with this religious classic.

Mona Lisa of Christian Books
This book is the New Testament version of Proverbs. From cover to cover it is jam packed with endless wisdom gleaned from Jesus' teachings. I finally stopped highlighting because I was highlighting every paragraph and the whole thing was yellow.
Ever bought an album/CD and EVERY song was amazing? That's how this book is. It's a masterpiece. It should be added to the Bible because every Christian should read, study and know it . I intend to read it yearly going forward, for it speaks DIRECTLY to my soul in its native language and provides deep spiritual nourishment .
Up until now Mere Christianity and Pilgrim's Progress had been my favorite Christian books . Imitation has now knocked them both out and taken the title belt. This book is the heavyweight champion of spiritually enlightening works and you will be hard-pressed to find a single wasted word from page 1 to the end. no fluff, no pretense, no rhetoric. Just pure spiritual reflection that will fill you with affirmation and profound views to examine your life and conscience.
