Ox and Snake, the first volume in the series, related the adventures of two young time travelers who had discovered a devastating attack against an Earth in the 15th Century. Using their advanced technology and power to travel the timelines, they start an effort to save as many people as they can. As they attract followers in their great cause, they create their Improbable Empire and extend their power across time and space.
