The Instinct of Light

The trilogy "The instinct of light" narrates the adventures of Awi, a young yachac apprentice, who has the ability to travel to the ancestral worlds (Uku Pacha, the world above and Jahua Pacha, the world below), he must receive the ancestral knowledge and defend his people from the nefarious revenge of Chusko, the black-souled shaman. In this series of short novels we witness the growth and learning of a young man who is chosen by the ancestral spirits. In each story we are sensitized to the need to preserve ancestral knowledge and marvel at the magic that inhabits the Ecuadorian Andes.

In this first book, Awi discovers his ancestral powers and his destiny. At first he does not accept it, but then he becomes aware of it. He must overcome some tests and learn about ancestral knowledge, from the hand of the old yachac Taita Wairi. The spell of eternal sleep breaks in the village. Awi and Taita Wairi struggle to reverse it. In the end, they learn terrible news: El Chusko seeks resurrection and revenge.
