Amazing conclusion
The Invasion is the conclusion of The Call duology which is a young adult fantasy horror dystopian about a group of teens stuck in Ireland while the walls between the Gray Land (the world of the Sídhe or fairy) and ours fall. During The Call we saw Anto (a non-violent vegetarian boy) and Nessa (a girl dismissed due to her disability from
polio) actually survive their “calls” to the Gray Land only to come back forever altered.
In The Invasion the authorities are suspicious of Nessa’s survival as they try to root out traitors that made deals with the Sídhe. She is separated from Anto and forced to fight for her innocence on both sides of the wall. But Anto faces heartbreaking losses of his own while his group is confronted with Sídhe who are positioning themselves for the final takedown of what they call “the Many Colored Land”.
The Invasion is equally dark to The Call with scenes of violence and body horror. But if a dark dystopian fairy tale could be described as “realistic” I definitely found this one to be. You can’t help but cheer for Anto and Nessa as they fight for their love, freedom and the land they love. I found the ending to be an amazing conclusion to the entire story.

Wow.
It was very exciting to see the characters progress in the journey and how the ending was pleasantly surprising with a touch of a comeback. I hope you decide to read it and imagine their minds journey.👍👍
