The Irish Bride (historical fiction)
This was an absolutely delightful love story, set first in Ireland then in America. It shed such clarity on the dire circumstances of the Irish both in their homeland and in America without being depressing. The main plot concerned itself with internal conflicts of a young Irish couple forced to emigrate to America and the hardships they faced trying to start a new life. An interesting subplot centered on their reasons for having to escape Ireland as well as a good romance keeps the reader engaged!
