Upon arrival at her new boarding school, The Brakem Academy, 8 year old Beatrice Bollingbrook-Drivelington is welcomed by the headmaster, Dr Bruit, an ogre of a man who ruled with an iron fist. The children escape, stealing Captain Murderer's pride and joy, the ship The Bloodbath. Twelve year olds Sam Skull and Katy Crossbones captain the crew of misfit children in the 1700s.
