“The best damned book from the point of view of the infantrymen who fought there.”—Army Times
Among the best books ever written about men in combat, The Killing Zone tells the story of the platoon of Delta One-six, capturing what it meant to face lethal danger, to follow orders, and to search for the conviction and then the hope that this war was worth the sacrifice. The book includes a new chapter on what happened to the platoon members when they came home.

Good read on difficult subject
As a Vietnam era vet, I found this to be a Very detailed, up close, and action packed. Gives you an idea of what it was really like to be there with infantry in the field. Well done.
Really engaging & well written
A memoir of a very heroic US Army Lt in Vietnam and the many horrors of fighting for a failed country who didn’t deserve a drop US blood on their soil!
Great read!
Brings back a lot of memories.
A gripping account of Army infantrymen fighting a war that was in extremely difficult terrain. Awful monsoons, high heat & humidity that sapped your strength. Tragic injures & fellow soldiers killed or wounded. And stories after returning home of success & redemption.
