Nice try, but...

I wanted to like this trilogy, but there were some issues that got in the way of real enjoyment. I wanted more details in the story itself, and the bare-minimum backstory made it harder to figure out what the characters were trying to accomplish. In all three books, the characters were underdeveloped, and that made the romance fall flat. Lastly, I think this trilogy needed better editing. Too many word choice errors, awkward sentences, etc. made me stop to figure out the meaning, and took me out of the story. In the end, it was just an OK read. This is a voluntary and independent ARC review.
