The Dawnings are at war! After narrowly surviving a surprise attack on their own soil, the family is passionately divided over how to respond to an unknown enemy with their failing resources.
Meanwhile, tensions with Baron Braddock and the crown escalate to the point that armies are mobilized. The mounting danger to the family and their way of life exposes the deep divisions among the brothers, and drives them even further apart. Now, with armies marching on them, the English nobility at war with the standing monarch, and a fierce rivalry with a neighboring baron exploding, the struggle for control of the barony rages ever hotter.
Building on the momentum of The Knights Dawning, The Knights Mourning watches the Dawnings continue to spin out of control as each brother is forced to confront his demons and, one by one, each must choose between his own self-preservation and that of the family and realm.

Second book is better than the first one!
Gotta hand it to him. The first book (Knights Dawning) was good, but this one was better. Both books just flow smoothly and with enough character development to make you feel really engaged with the story. Write a little faster, Mr. Batchelor...need to get the third one out!
