The Lady Lighthouse Keeper

The Lady Lighthouse Keeper is a fictionalized account of the life of the only woman to serve as a lighthouse keeper at Horton Point Lighthouse in Southold, NY. Stella Prince, (1867 - 1927) lived at the lighthouse longer than anyone else, more than half of her life. At its core, The Lady Lighthouse Keeper is an intimate and relatable exploration of family life at a slower pace, set against the backdrop of the rigor required to maintain a lighthouse. Through Stella, we learn about life on the North Fork in the late 1800's and early 20th century, from a woman's perspective.
