The Last Man

A fantastic post-apocalyptic novel from Mary Shelley, the visionary author of Frankenstein. The world is ravaged by a mysterious plague, and the story follows Lionel Verney - a man immune to the plague as he struggles with the notion of him become the last man alive. While the novel was very harshly viewed when it was published, it was given a new lease of life when it was rediscovered during the literary revivals of the 1960s.
