Imagine your favorite teachers from high school are dying, being mysteriously murdered one by one soon after the arrival of the new English instructor...
Mackenzie August is starting a new life. After a successful but destructive career as a high-profile California homicide detective, and then a less successful and even more destructive stint working for a church, he has moved to Virginia to start over as an instructor. The only thing he's bringing with him is Kix, his infant baby boy. He plans for peaceful living with his son, but trouble soon finds him as his new co-workers begin showing up dead outside of his classroom.
Customer Reviews
Good but just shy of…
1. Very good for relaxation and helping you drift past tough things in your life.
2. Keeps your interest for the most part but some parts were quite predictable.
3. Him early, I wanted it to continue and expected it to go to one more level like a double plot with multiple endings.
4. The clincher…I’m looking at other books by the author!
Loved it!
I really enjoyed this book and will definitely read more by this author. It had humor, interesting characters, and two murders to solve. I consider it a good mystery if I can’t guess the killer, and I had no clue. Well done and great escapism during these disturbing times.
Finally
A book with an engaging main character! Exciting and charming and smart.
