In a city where every life is recorded, existence itself is controlled by the Ledger.

High above the streets rises the Spire, a towering archive where the names of every citizen are carved into stone and preserved by ancient magic. Births, deaths, marriages, property, identity—everything that proves a person exists is written there.

When the city's magical registry performs its seven-year Recalibration, the system discovers something it has never encountered before: a living woman who does not exist.
