Publisher Description

The purpose of this book is to strengthen its readers in a Christian worldview. But unlike most devotionals which begin each day with a Bible verse and an inspirational story, this one—while holding Scripture in high regard—relies heavily on argumentation pertaining to apologetics, theology, etc. It also recounts history, reviews biographies, and integrates Christian belief with political philosophy, social issues, and cultural expression (music, films, etc.). It conveys these ideas succinctly, and takes seriously the painful aspects of life.

The book is written for left-brainers—analytical people who take action in response to logical persuasion as opposed to emotional appeals. Each daily devotion begins with a question—sometimes a hard question, or an elephant-in-the-living-room question—and then endeavors to answer it. It’s not essential that readers agree with every viewpoint presented; what matters is that Christians learn to think carefully about their beliefs and develop a rational basis for defending their convictions.
