Three years have passed since Lavos was defeated and the future saved. Crono, now married to the princess Nadia, is the new prince of the Kingdom of Guardia, and the world is enjoying a time of peace. But not all is as it seems. The King of Guardia has fallen ill, growing closer to what appears to be an inevitable death with every passing day, and Crono becomes more and more distant as the young prince throws himself into his kingdom's politics. A problem in Lucca Ashtear's theory of time travel plagues her thoughts as she struggles to unravel the truth. The answer to this mystery is more important than she could believe, and when the genius inventor is imprisoned for treason it becomes apparent that something is very, very wrong. A forgotten evil shatters the peaceful calm of Guardia, and the secret to the Ashtear line is the key to everything.
Definitely a grown up version of my favorite video game story. Straight into the action, and familiar. There should be more of these!
Surpassed my expectations
This did a very good job expanding the Chrono-Verse, all the while, maintaining the original story. I now really more then ever wish they would release a third title and I definitely want to see the game based within the elements brought into play via this book.
