An Enduring Legend
Rumor has it she broke Lyon Redmond's heart. But while many a man has since wooed the dazzling Olivia Eversea, none has ever won her—which is why jaws drop when she suddenly accepts a viscount's proposal. Now London waits with bated breath for the wedding of a decade . . . and wagers on the return of an heir.
An Eternal Love
It was instant and irresistible, forbidden . . . and unforgettable. And Lyon—now a driven, dangerous, infinitely devastating man—decides it's time for a reckoning. As the day of her wedding races toward them, Lyon and Olivia will decide whether their love is a curse destined to tear their families apart . . . or the stuff of which legends are made.
PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
Long's ardent 11th Georgian-set Pennyroyal Green romance (after It Started with a Scandal) is vivid and tender but lacks historical verisimilitude. Lyon Redmond and Olivia Eversea are meant to be together; from the moment their eyes meet at the Sussex Christmas Eve Assembly, their connection is intimate and powerful. They know fate is against them the Eversea and Redmond families have been at odds since before Lyon and Olivia were born but their innocence, passion, and youthful optimism drown out the obstacles preventing their happiness, until Lyon's father hands down an ultimatum: Lyon must abandon all thought of marrying Olivia, or be disowned and left penniless. Can their love survive such a choice? Long's take on young lovers torn apart by circumstance has a conventional sweetness, but modern language and mannerisms jar the reader out of the period on more than a few occasions.

Sentimental & emotional conclusion
Finally, Lyon and Olivia’s story. I love their love story! I highly recommend this book and think it is so powerful and touching. I cried a little, laughed more and fell for Lyon. I really felt their emotions through the pages and love them together. I can say this having finished reading all but two in this series... It is one of my favorites out of all of them honestly, if not my favorite story actually (I really liked most of the books in this series, loved a few of them). I love finally getting the full story of these two characters after several books full of tidbits & teasers. It did not disappoint. I think their love story and the details behind their choices/characters finally revealed is the best climax to the series. I do think as a stand alone, you would not be as in love with this book- but you could read and enjoy it. I highly suggest reading several of the others first and then you will be much more engaged, it will be way better if you do. For sure ‘I Kissed an Earl’ to give you the most background and also I think ‘Like No Other Lover’ but the more you read in the series, the better background you’d have. For me, the epilogue (or short modern day portion really) was fine, but not great. I felt it was a cute way to share details of everyone’s outcomes after the series ... but not for an end to this book. I found it a little abrupt & a waste of novel space because the modern day characters you’ve not met before have a small intro and then they update you about the past outcomes of several PG characters. Instead, I’d rather have had a short epilogue from L+ O’s point of view and/or just even more of the L + O love story instead, with an update on their kids... also their meeting of reckoning could have been a little longer IMO as there was just so much pent up emotion from them both. That is probably my only complaint, and it’s still fine as I adore the book even with that said. I was fully satisfied with how she wrapped up their part of the story before the epilogue. I just love the characters of Lyon and Olivia so much that I could have had more of them. Hope this helps, can’t wait to read it again!

A near perfect read. There’s so many parts of this book I enjoyed and the emotion fairly lept off the page. There’s were flashbacks in the beginning, but I thought they were appropriate and explained so much of how Lyon and Olivia got to where they were. This book really pulled me in and I could hardly put it down. Such a wonderful ending.
Favorite book of all time!
I read this book in one day! I tried but could not put it down! I smiled, cried, laughed.. I frll in love with Lyon as much as i felt for Olivia. This is my favorite story not just of the series but of all time. I will read this book as much as i read I KISSED AN EARL times infinity! I definitely recommend and wish i could give it way more than just five stars. I would rate it a night sky of stars! Anyone who is willing to put life on hold and get lost in aomething beautiful this is the read for you.
