The fishing boats on Lake Erie are disappearing and their crews never heard from again. Some believe there is an evil on the lake. The Birch kids are determined to find out and save the town. But between them and the answers is a mysterious island, a mythical creature, and pirates! The real-life small village of Vermilion, Ohio - nestled on the banks of the Lake Erie is the setting for this adventure.
