George W. Bush followed in his father’s footsteps and became the 43rd President of the United States of America at the turn of the millennium, overseeing two difficult terms for the nation. Before leaving office in 2009, where he was replaced by current president Barack Obama, Bush suffered some of the lowest public opinion ratings of recent history, not just in America, but also internationally. Perhaps unfairly remembered for his cowboy-like accent and mannerisms, as well as a collection of famous quotes (often not for the right reasons), Bush was at points of his presidency one of the most popular and one of the least popular presidents. Despite this, he is perhaps Texas’ most famous adopted son, and George’s life has seen him progress from Yale graduate to the oval office, whilst becoming a successful businessman, a pilot and governor of his home state along the way.
