The Light

When thousands of strange lights suddenly and inexplicably appear over major cities worldwide – surprising an unsuspecting public – the world is rapidly plunged into chaos. Mark, a young professor who has recently made a major breakthrough in clean and renewable energy, is on his way to the Whitehouse and is stuck in peak hour traffic with his two young children when the first lights begin to drift down, without warning and seemingly out of nowhere. Instinctively realizing that something is wrong, he grabs the kids and attempts to get them to safety.
Meanwhile, the situation across the world quickly deteriorates as word spreads like wildfire that the Rapture had arrived. World governments attempt to take military action when one-by-one the lights make landfall and begin to grow with impunity. Unbeknownst to Mark, the arrival of the lights is connected to his recent discovery as well as events that unfolded on the other side of the galaxy. However, his instinct was right, for not only do the lights pose a threat to the lives of his own family and to the lives of billions more; they represent an almost unstoppable threat the likes of which the world, and the universe, has never seen before.
