The Lightning War: Solar Gate

Eight years after the wormhole died, Earth went silent. Now one starship captain and his crew of outcasts are going back through a bubble gate that closes behind them.

KASIA, the AI who designed the Hyades gate network, has found a route: a single corridor 150 light-years long to the old wormhole terminus near Neptune, powered by every alien Star Core Polonia Prime owns. Once the Fantom crosses, there's no backup and no way to call home until engineer Jan Król builds the other end.

Nobody in the Hyades knows what eight years of silence have done to Earth. The Fantom is going to find out.

Admiral Maria Roszak can't send a fleet. She gives Captain Tom Nowicki three words instead of orders: use your judgment. He has spent his life avoiding this kind of power.

Now he has to decide what twelve billion people deserve, with nobody above him to answer to, in this military sci-fi space opera.
