The Lilium

Born of a demon. Destined to destroy her.

Before Eve, there was Lilith.

Created as Adam's equal, Lilith refused to submit to him and fled the Garden of Eden. Her defiance ultimately condemns her to an existence of darkness, bitterness, and vengeance. Imprisoned beneath the sea and permitted to roam the earth only during the full moon, Lilith becomes the mother of a terrifying race of demons known as the Lilium.

But not all of her children embrace the evil into which they were born.

Naamah, Lilith's firstborn daughter, survives her mother's brutality and chooses a different path. Alongside her siblings Secunda and Primero, she sets out on an extraordinary journey to hunt the demonic offspring Lilith has unleashed upon the world and ultimately confront the one being responsible for their existence.

Their quest will carry them across centuries and civilizations.

From the world of Adam and Eve and the fall of Babel to ancient Egypt and lands beyond the known horizon, the three Lilium witness humanity's triumphs and cruelties while encountering legendary figures whose teachings challenge their understanding of existence. Nimrod, Confucius, Buddha, and ultimately Jesus become part of a journey that is as much about discovering what it means to be human as it is about battling the evil born from their own bloodline.

Yet immortality carries a terrible price.

Naamah, Secunda, and Primero do not age as generations rise and disappear around them. They experience friendship, family, love, loss, and grief, only to watch the people they care about grow old and die. The longer they walk among humanity, the more they question the nature of good and evil, the purpose of their extraordinary existence, and whether creatures born of darkness can choose what they ultimately become.

They possess extraordinary powers. They can heal the sick and confront supernatural evil. They exist outside the boundaries of ordinary time.

But there is one thing their powers cannot give them.

They were born demons. All they want is the chance to be human.

The Lilium is a sweeping dark historical fantasy that blends biblical and ancient mythology, supernatural horror, adventure, and philosophical questions about mortality, family, free will, and what it truly means to be human.
